TINA WALLACE

Lead / Female / 25 / African-American

Smart, beautiful, and emotionally layered. A single mother and straight-A MBA student. Despite carrying trauma from her past—including the loss of her parents and being a survivor of sexual assault—Tina is fiercely protective of her son and determined to create a better life for them. Resilient but stretched to her limit. Actress must be able to convey strength, vulnerability, and quiet desperation.

Think: Dominique Fishback, Keke Palmer, or Teyonah Parris.

 

JALEN WALLACE

Supporting / Male / 8 / African-American

Tina’s son. Innocent, sweet-natured, and emotionally aware beyond his years. Jalen often acts as a grounding presence for his mother. Must be expressive, natural on screen, and able to portray both vulnerability and subtle emotional maturity.

Think: A young Miles Brown or Alex R. Hibbert (early Moonlight).

 

TIFFANY WALLACE

Supporting / Female / 32 / African-American

Tina’s older sister. Street-smart, blunt, and hardened by life. Former exotic dancer who became the family caretaker at a young age. Loves her sister and nephew but struggles with guilt and resentment. Offers tough love but means well. Actress must bring grit, sass, and authenticity.

Think: Taraji P. Henson (with edge), Naturi Naughton.

 

MR. RAY

Supporting / Male / 45 / African-American or Latino

Landlord. Intimidating, manipulative, and crass. Uses his authority to exert power over vulnerable tenants. A mix of sleaze and threat. Should be able to shift from fake charm to menacing in an instant.

Think: Clifton Powell (Next Friday energy), or J.D. Williams with edge.

 

MR. JACKSON

Day Player / Male / 50 / African-American

Tina’s boss. Old-school, sarcastic, and opinionated. Offers harsh truths with a dash of humor. Doesn’t grasp the complexity of Tina’s situation, but isn’t malicious. Comic timing a plus.

Think: Steve Harris or a dry-toned Wendell Pierce.

 

MRS. GRIFFIN

Day Player / Female / 50s / Any ethnicity

Payroll/HR administrator. Sharp-tongued, impatient, and all business. Not intentionally mean, but completely disconnected from the human side of her job. Thinks she’s heard it all before.

Think: Loretta Devine (if hardened), or a brusque Niecy Nash.

 

REPO MAN #1

Supporting / Male / 30s–40s / Any ethnicity

Lead repo agent. Intimidating and thuggish. Ruthless, verbally abusive, and enjoys throwing his weight around. Must be physically imposing and bring raw energy to the screen.

Think: A Larenz Tate type with menace, or a young Michael Clarke Duncan energy.

 

REPO MEN #2 & #3

Day Players / Males / 20s–40s / Any ethnicity

Repo muscle. Silent, expressionless, and mechanical. Their job is to take what’s owed without empathy.

Think: Security guard or bouncer types.
